The OFL will be holding a Workers of Colour Symposium on September 11-12, 2015 at the Holiday Inn Toronto-Yorkdale Hotel, 3450 Dufferin Street, Toronto.
The Symposium will allow a safe space for participants to discuss racism, discrimination, social and economic inequities in the labour movement, workplaces and our communities while accessing learning workshops that will assist individuals in developing the needed skills, tools and resources to participate fully in their workplaces and their unions. A key component of the symposium is the closing plenary where participants will develop an action plan “Creating Change.”
It will also give the OFL Vice-Presidents representing Workers of Colour an opportunity to hear and respond to the constituency they represent.
Plenary and welcome start at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, and the Symposium will wrap up at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12.

Registration will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 11 and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12. The Symposium registration fee is $180.00. Please ensure you identify your workshop of choice on the registration form. Please return the
completed form, together with a cheque payable to “OFL Workers of Colour Symposium” no later than September 8, 2015.
Hotel Arrangements – Participants are responsible for cost and making their own hotel arrangements. Guest room rate is per night, per room and subject to 13% HST are as follows:

- King Deluxe $134.95
- Two Double Beds Executive $139.95
- King Executive $144.95

Child Care – It is OFL policy that we will provide child care services if more than ten (10) children are registered for this service. The Child Care Registration Form must be received by August 17, 2015 as we must make arrangements with the child care provider.
Personal Assistance Request Form – Accommodation can be provided for delegates with disabilities if advance notice is received. If services are needed, please complete and return the attached Personal Assistance Request Form by August 10, 2015.
Allergy Alert Notice – It is OFL policy that events are scent free to ensure the active participation of those with chemical sensitivity.
